Toilets Integration “ti“

Most Indian cities still do not have proper public sanitation. In India it’s a task to find a public toilet, and even if you succeed to find one they are not clean. Over the years, public toilets have become synonymous with unclean toilets leading to the spread of various deadly diseases. When it comes to sanitation facilities for women in public toilets the scenario is even worse. Number of women’s public toilets is comparatively less than the male public toilets.
To work towards providing dignity and hygiene to women, 3S introduced exclusive women’s public restroom known as “ती” (toilet integration).

“ती” is an innovative idea initiated by 3S – a div of
SaraPlast Pvt Ltd  along with Pune Municipal Corporation
under the aegis of Kunal Kumar the dynamic municipal
commissioner of Pune who conceptualized the idea and in association with their CSR
partner -Indus Towers Limited.

These buses are over 13 years old and were waiting to be scrapped. Scrapping would
mean landfill pollution of high costs for dismantling and recycling various parts for reuse, not counting the manpower, energy and water waste.

Recycling was the idea behind this concept. PMC , Indus and 3S put their strengths
together and came up with an idea to recycle these buses and create something that would
be used for at least another ten years and that the refurbishing would considerably improve environmental impact. The entire bus was stripped down and cleaned of any rusted or damaged parts before being converted to.
